Indiana announces $84 million in infrastructure grants

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun announced the release of $84 million in infrastructure grants to 147 cities, towns and counties across the state. The funding comes from the Community Crossings program, where cities, towns and counties can submit projects for consideration. Since its inception, the program has provided nearly $2 billion in road infrastructure funding across the state.

“Indiana is the crossroads of America and Hoosiers rely on our strong roads and infrastructure to drive economic growth and strong communities,” said Gov. Braun. “I was proud to co-author the Community Crossings program when I was in the General Assembly because it encourages skin in the game from local communities and that will always generate better results.”

The next call for submissions opens in September 2026.

“The additional $75 million from the General Assembly, plus cost favorability from the initial call for projects is allowing more locals to improve transportation infrastructure in their communities,” said INDOT Commissioner Lyndsay Quist. “These projects enhance quality of life for residents and help strengthen local tourism and economic development.”
