California receives $277 million for water infrastructure upgrades
California American Water announced its $277 million investment to strengthen the state’s water and wastewater infrastructure throughout 2026. California American Water’s 2026 investment plan prioritizes replacing and renewing aging water infrastructure, enhancing water storage and improving water treatment. The plan also includes technology and operational efficiency upgrades.
“Our continued investments reflect our long-term commitment to delivering reliable service, protecting public health and supporting economic growth across California,” said Sarah Leeper, President of California American Water.
The $277 million investment will go towards planned and ongoing projects across communities throughout the state, including a major main replacement project in Sacramento, new groundwater storage in Isleton, major water treatment upgrades in Monterey and new water storage tanks across Southern California.
