California invests $2.7 billion for over 150 transportation projects
On Aug. 28, 2026, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the state is investing $2.7 billion for more than 150 new transportation projects. These projects will improve travel times, expand transit options beyond driving and strengthen the state’s transportation infrastructure against severe weather and climate-driven threats.
“California is building a transportation system ready for the future; one that can withstand extreme weather, give people more ways to get where they need to go and keep our economy moving,” said Newsom.
This latest $2.7 billion transportation investment brings California Transportation Commission allocations to approximately $81.1 billion to date.
