USDOT invests $20 million in regional infrastructure projects
On May 1, 2026, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced that it is investing $20 million into 20 programs across 17 states to help a collection of major regional infrastructure projects through their planning and financing phases.
The USDOT’s Build America Bureau issued funding via its Regional Infrastructure Accelerators program, which helps communities navigate complex development challenges, particularly by providing hands-on technical assistance. The agency noted that, through establishing the RIA program in 2015, it has invested a total of $54 million nationwide.
“USDOT is leveraging strong public-private partnerships to help communities upgrade their infrastructure quickly and safely,” said Sean Duffy, USDOT secretary.
