New York aims to advance its water infrastructure
New York is making $425 million available to upgrade drinking water and sewer system infrastructure for communities across the state. Recipients will invest in modernizing aging infrastructure while tackling legacy issues that continue to plague the state’s water systems. These threats include lead service lines and emerging contaminants, both posing credible and ongoing risks to public health by polluting clean water sources.
The Notice of Funding Opportunity fulfills a significant portion of the commitment made through the $3.75 billion water infrastructure investment plan included in the recently enacted state budget. The New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation will deliver awards through the Water Infrastructure Improvement and Intermunicipal Water Infrastructure Grants programs.
