U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announces Grants to reform U.S. shipyards

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) was awarded $8.75 million to boost economic strength and national security. The grant is a part of The Small Shipyard Grant program, which supports training, development and new technologies within U.S. shipbuilding. The funds are expected to be distributed to 17 recipients across 12 states.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, “Unleashing the full power of America’s shipyards will boost our economic strength and national security,” said Acting Maritime Administrator Sang Yi.
