PennDOT releases $90 billion infrastructure program
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) released its 2027 12-Year Program (TYP), the Commonwealth’s official mid-range planning tool.
The largest share of PennDOT funding is planned toward state highway and bridge projects, with an estimated total of $16.9 billion over four years. Following is public transit, to receive $12.9 billion.
“While the TYP prioritizes projects that promote safety, improve the condition of our roads and bridges, enhance mobility, and implement technological advancements, transportation in Pennsylvania is bigger than how many and what types of projects we fund,” said Michael B. Carroll, Secretary, PA Department of Transportation and Chairperson, State Transportation Commission. “Transportation is about connecting our communities and improving how our people get to work, school, critical services and more.”
