Chicago Hosts APWA Public Works Expo

More than 5,000 public works professionals are expected to attend the American Public Works Association’s (APWA) Public Works Expo. The conference is set to take place from August 17–20, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois.

APWA Public Works Expo is designed to engage public works professionals with each other and hold important education sessions to continue their determined work to keep cities safe and running smoothly. The exhibit floor is sold out and anticipated to be the largest in nearly two decades. There are over 150 education sessions, seminars, and workshops to choose from that cover a variety of topics.

“Public works professionals are first responders, which means they have to be ready at a moment’s notice,” said APWA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Scott D. Grayson, CAE. “With the increase and intensity of natural disasters, knowing the latest in response techniques, as well as learning the latest tools to manage day-to-day community needs, is imperative. That’s why we’ve packed so many ways to learn, network, and connect with peers into this year’s PWX schedule. We want to send our attendees back to their agencies empowered, inspired, and proud of the work they do.”
