APWA Announces the 2025 Projects of the Year
The American Public Works Association (APWA) reveals their picks for the 2025 projects of the year. This award honors the outstanding achievements and performance of public works professionals.
The awards were announced at the APWA Public Works Expo (PWX) in Chicago, Illinois. Awards are based on budget and type of project in four divisions and five categories.
Some honorees include, the Pima County Regional Flood Control District for Disaster or Emergency Construction/Repair ($5 million), the Arlington Department of Public Works for Historical Restoration/Preservation of the DPW and Municipal Services Facility ($25–$75 million) and the City of Chaska, Minnesota for Transportation of Chaska Downtown Highway 41 Improvements ($5–$25 million).
“Innovation in public works is critical now more than ever as we face strains on our infrastructure imposed by age, increased need for resiliency due to the increase of natural disasters, new development, and, in some cases, lack of resources. That’s why it’s critical we celebrate and elevate our Project of the Year Award winners. They inspire and demonstrate what it takes to improve the quality of life for all of our communities. I truly commend each of this year’s honorees,” said APWA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Scott D. Grayson, CAE.
