TxDOT Celebrates Major Project Milestones Across Texas
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is not taking a summer vacation, workers are tirelessly upgrading infrastructure across the state.
These projects include the reopening of the Westlake Drive bridge in Austin, where construction began in 2022.
The city of Houston held two ribbon cuttings for their completed projects, I-610 Cambridge Project and I-10 Brookshire Project. These projects aimed to revamp outdated infrastructure and increase the support of traffic and inclement weather concerns. Traveling down to the Texas Panhandle, Fritch is improving the safety and ADA compliancy of State Highway 136.
In western Travis County, after the RM 1431 bridge at Cow Creek was severely damaged during the early July floods, emergency reconstruction project is making significant progress.
“This bridge is a vital link for the region, and we’re doing everything we can to get it back in service quickly,” said Tucker Ferguson, TxDOT’s Austin District Engineer.
