Time to Stop Subsidizing Solar and Wind in Perpetuity

The One Big Beautiful Bill would eliminate or accelerate the phase‑out of federal clean energy tax credits for wind, solar, EV’s and energy efficiency, while introducing incentives for traditional energy sources like oil, gas, nuclear, and met-coal, sparking a contentious debate around energy costs, reliability and economic competitiveness. Supporters argue it would lower electricity prices and reinforce grid stability by relying on dispatchable base load power, while opponents warn it could raise consumer bills by several hundred dollars per year, lead to substantial job losses in clean energy and impede climate innovation.
