Sarasota County’s Strategic Sewer Evaluation
Sarasota County is modernizing its wastewater infrastructure through its CMOM program and Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys (SSES), focusing on maintenance, system upgrades and environmental protection. These efforts, which include advanced inspections and targeted repairs, aim to reduce sewer overflows and improve water quality, particularly in vulnerable coastal areas. The initiative has already contributed to measurable improvements in local bay ecosystems, as noted in the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program’s 2024 health report.
