OCTA advances water quality protection ahead of winter storms
On Oct. 12, 2026, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) board approved funding for eight projects to reduce transportation-related pollution and improve water quality throughout Orange County ahead of winter storms. The $3.87 million comes from the Measure M2 Environmental Cleanup Program.
“Protecting Orange County’s waterways starts with investing in pollution prevention, before our beaches and ocean experience impacts,” said OCTA Vice Chair Katrina Foley.
Since the program’s inception, nearly 92 million gallons of trash have been captured, according to Foley.
