NYS/DEC Announces construction of $13 Million Wastewater Project
The New York State DEC has launched a nearly $13 million project to improve wastewater collection and treatment in Kendall, Orleans County, aiming to protect Lake Ontario’s water quality and enhance flood resilience. This project will connect over 330 residents to a new public sewer system, replacing vulnerable private septic systems that risk contamination during floods. Funded through the REDI initiative, the effort includes building over 11 miles of sewer lines and will help reduce costs for the local community while addressing climate-related challenges.
