NMDOT awards nearly $47M for transportation statewide projects

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) awarded nearly $47 million to 27 projects across the state during the federal fiscal year 2026 call for projects. Such projects to be funded by the NMDOT include supporting transit operations and infrastructure upgrades, designing and constructing urban and rural multi-use paths and trails, as well as supporting Safe Routes to School programs.

“These programs are critical for Tribal and local public agencies, funding projects from planning through construction and beyond state roadways,” said Robin Graham, Active Transportation Program coordinator. “They make multimodal safety and quality-of-life improvements possible, particularly in smaller and rural communities where these projects might otherwise never move forward.”
