Maryland Board of Public Works approves $126M in funding

In a scheduled meeting on January 7, 2026, the Maryland Board of Public Works approved $126M in infrastructure project funding. Sitting on the Maryland Board of Public Works is Governor Wes Moore, Treasurer Dereck E. Davis and Comptroller ​Brooke E. Lierman. The board approved 10 projects across four jurisdictions.

The funding from agency grants, prior year capital budget allocations and  the bulk of the distributions from the state’s Program Open Space. Baltimore City received a large majority of the funds for seven projects. This includes a $2,057,189  commitment to improvements at City Springs Park. Other jurisdictions receiving funding include Howard, Washington and Wicomico.
