Congress funds transportation for 2028 Olympics
On Feb. 6, 2026, Congress pledged $94.3 million funding toward transportation-related projects for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the recently enacted transportation spending law. The funding will assist Los Angeles Metro in advancing with its Games Enhanced Transit System, a temporary supplementary system to move spectators and the workforce to and from venues. The funding will also improve stations, mobility hubs and light rails, as well provide support for the Games Route Network and enhance a number of venue areas.
“Passing this legislation will strengthen American manufacturing, support family-wage jobs and keep the nation moving,” said Paul Skoutelas, American Public Transportation President and CEO.
