U.S., China Reach Tariff Agreement, Easing Pressure on Building Industry
The U.S. Department of Transportation announced the approval of 76 infrastructure grants totaling over $607 million. The funding will support a range of transportation projects nationwide, including airport enhancements, rail safety improvements, and wildlife crossing installations. The initiative aims to advance long-delayed projects and improve transportation safety and efficiency.
According to the department, the grants are part of a broader effort to address a backlog of more than 3,200 transportation initiatives. Since January, over 400 grants have been approved, amounting to nearly $5 billion in funding. Officials say the department is streamlining project delivery by eliminating certain requirements to help reduce costs and accelerate timelines.
