Executive Orders Aim to Advance U.S. Nuclear Energy and Scientific Standards

On May 23, 2025, President Trump signed executive orders aimed at revitalizing the U.S. nuclear energy sector and reinforcing scientific standards. The directives authorize the Department of Energy to facilitate reactor design testing at national laboratories, permit construction on federal lands, and streamline regulatory processes by mandating timely licensing decisions from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
