Cal Water begins work on Marysville infrastructure upgrade
On March 31, 2026, the California Water Service (Cal Water) announced that work has begun on a major water infrastructure upgrade to enhance water supply reliability and fire protection in central Marysville. Cal Water crews recently began construction to install approximately 1,980 feet of new water main on Ellis Lake Drive, between 14th Street and 1730 Ellis Lake Drive. The project involves replacing the existing 8-inch main with a 12-inch main to increase water flow and enhance firefighting capabilities in drier months.
“Replacing this aging main is a critical investment in Marysville’s future,” said Tavis Beynon, Marysville District Manager. “This upgrade strengthens the water system and supports our ability to continue delivering reliable service to every home and business for decades to come. By proactively replacing this section of pipeline, we’re improving overall system performance and safeguarding the high‑quality drinking water our community depends on every day.”
